The writer of Proverbs speaks to this:

A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.

The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing.

The simple truth is that the choices you make today will affect tomorrow. Even your non-choices are choices when it comes to time. Think of time like money. You’re always spending it. Each day is a gift that you spend wisely or squandor.

Because the days are evil, we must walk wisely. I don’t have to convince you of this imperative. The bigger question is how? How do we walk wisely? Paul helps us understand exactly that. Let’s look at what he has to say. He says you must be intentional. He says you must be discerning. And he says you must be filled with the Holy Spirit.
