The Bible calls for Every-Member ministry.
Grace helps us to appreciate our gifts and talents, but also accept our God-given limits. That leads us to appreciate our need for others in the community (1 Corinthians 12). And it means that every member is necessary. Only when the entire community is appreciated and employed in serving will we grow into the body of Christ (Ephesians 4).

Children: Submission through Obedience
The command for children to obey their parents seems so obvious. Most parents aren’t surprised to find such a command in the Bible. Most parents embrace it. At the same time, we’ve come to embrace some contradictory ideas. Many of the movies and television shows these days depict parents as out of touch, uncool, and dimwitted. The children are often the heroes of the story, coming to the rescue ditzy parents, often despite the restrictive rules of the overbearing parent. Most of these shows we embrace without giving them much thought because they leave out foul language and “too much kissing.” They make it through our grid of acceptability even though they paint a picture that opposes one of the greatest commands that the Scriptures give. The Scriptures direct us to obey our parents in the Lord.
Obey your parents for this is right.
