Carter Sanger
Senior Pastor

Carter has served as Senior Pastor of Cornerstone in Katy since early 2005, when he moved to Katy from Oklahoma City with his wife Rhonda, his sons Dunning, Mercer, and Fenton, and daughter Eliana. Carter attended Vanderbilt University and Oklahoma University and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from OU. His Master of Divinity degree comes from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He brings a variety of pastoral experience and business experience. Prior to arriving at Cornerstone Carter served as a Youth and Family Pastor at a PCA church in Ohio and as a Pastor of Theological Education at a PCA church in Oklahoma. Additionally, he has over seven years of project management experience allowing him to relate well with those in the Business and Engineering workplace.

He enjoys reading, camping, tennis, golf, and just about every other outdoor sport. His favorite authors include C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Edmund Clowney, and Tim Keller.

Nathan Carico Associate Pastor

Nathan has a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. Nathan and Brooke have four children: Tristan, Ravyn, Tennyson, and Autumn. They are originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee.

When Nathan and Brooke speak of the gospel, you get the sense that they speak out of an experiential rather than a dry theological understanding. In other words, they can’t hide the personal nature the gospel has for them. Nathan’s ministry experience encompasses music, youth, college, and teaching. He is sought after to lead worship because of his musical talents, is familiar with the Korean culture having worked with youth at a Korean church, and been involved in a variety of discipleship ministries. Nathan and Brooke have a heart for mercy ministry and would love to see our congregation grow in diversity.

Allen joins our staff after spending 10 years planting a church in Kazakhstan. He and his wife Pat focus their efforts on reaching and serving the international community in Houston.

Carol Kutzer

Carol wears many hats at Cornerstone.  She prefers to be thought of as our resident “Church Lady”.  Feel free to call her if you need information or assistance related to Cornerstone.

Her office hours are generally Mon — Thu 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Jeremy Smith
Music Team and Videographer

Jeremy is an accomplished musician and professional videographer. He has been involved in music since 1997 and loves artistic endeavors. If you are interested in the music ministry or have an idea for aat Cornerstone, send him an email and let him know.

Courtney Lott
Youth Assistant

Courtney has attended Cornerstone for many years and has now come back to help assist the church in creating a Junior and Senior High youth ministry.  She recently completed a year as a youth intern at a church in Houston, and is excited to work with the youth here.  Feel free to call any time.

Elders at Cornerstone are elected by the congregation to govern the needs of the congregation. Their first priority is prayer and the ministry of the Word.
