The Bible calls for Every-Member ministry.
Grace helps us to appreciate our gifts and talents, but also accept our God-given limits. That leads us to appreciate our need for others in the community (1 Corinthians 12). And it means that every member is necessary. Only when the entire community is appreciated and employed in serving will we grow into the body of Christ (Ephesians 4).

The church is baptized into Christ. The church is a building. The church is a body. The church is a radiant bride…
But so often this beautiful body looks mangled with legs and arms going in all different directions. So often this building, this temple, instead of a grand cathedral it looks like a shack with [...]
Read more →Throughout his letter, John has given his community and us a laundry list of contrasts to help us understand what Life in Christ looks like. He uses language to help us see how a person can know God, but he takes this a step further and uses these contrasts to give the Christian assurance. These [...]

Read more →John has told us that if you are in Christ, then before God you are not rejected. You are approved. Why? Our union with Christ. Union with Christ says that God became our sinless sacrifice for a debt that contained all of your sin, all of your failures, all your anxiety, and all your fears. [...]
Read more →John says that if you are in Christ, God’s self-sacrificial love leaves a mark. Not just in your skin, but God’s great love goes all the way to the core of your being. If you have been transformed by Jesus dying on the cross, and if you know God’s love is for you, then you [...]
Read more →If John makes you despair over your inability to walk in the light as Jesus is in the light, what you must understand to really get his first letter is that he is writing to people who are in despair! You see, some of John’s “little children” had their confidence shaken by loveless false teachers [...]
Read more →Last month I said that, according to the Bible, the mission of God is to change lives and restore the Earth for His glory. We found out that we as His church are to accomplish this mission by serving one another like Jesus. This time we are looking at how this new community that serves [...]

We have announced this in corporate worship but ServeFest started last weekend so we had to wait on details to find out exactly what we would be doing this Saturday to help [...]
Read more →What is the mission of the church? To answer this question we must ask another one: what is the mission of God? The mission of God as revealed to us in Jesus and through His Scriptures is to make broken people whole and restore His creation. Put simply, God’s mission is to change lives and [...]
