The Bible calls for Every-Member ministry.
Grace helps us to appreciate our gifts and talents, but also accept our God-given limits. That leads us to appreciate our need for others in the community (1 Corinthians 12). And it means that every member is necessary. Only when the entire community is appreciated and employed in serving will we grow into the body of Christ (Ephesians 4).

Daniel lives in the world, while living according to his faith that he is not of the world. He does this for a particular purpose: so that he might live for the world.

After wrestling with it he stayed and two years later was confronted by the slave trade. This was his opportunity to “seek the welfare of [...]

He came instead as a Jewish baby, raised as a Jewish man in a largely agricultural society trying to maintain its own identity in a world that had been largely Hellenized by [...]
Read more →Do you know what giving thanks does? It forces you to see what God has done for you rather than focus on the things that he hasn’t done for you. Giving thanks drives away anger, frustration, despair, discontentment, and bitterness. It is God’s tool to peace, joy, and contentment for the Christian. This is what [...]
Read more →As we read through the psalm, we find that it is God’s love that extends the gift of repentance. God’s love invites us to repent. What I want to do this morning is very simple. I want to look at two things: the invitation to repent, and the act of repentance.

Read more →The church is baptized into Christ. The church is a building. The church is a body. The church is a radiant bride…
But so often this beautiful body looks mangled with legs and arms going in all different directions. So often this building, this temple, instead of a grand cathedral it looks like a shack with [...]
Read more →Remembering our past gives a context for our present. It reminds us that we are today did not come about in a vacuum. We are what we are today because of the people that were part of Cornerstone yesterday. And what we will be tomorrow will be a result of what we, who are part [...]
Read more →In Paul’s letters in the New Testament he tells us that the church is one. While there are many images in the Bible that depict the oneness of the church, perhaps none do so as clearly as the image of a body. He teaches us that the church is a body–a single body–growing and maturing [...]
Read more →At the heart of the Old Testament promises we find this: “I will be your God and you will be my people.” The people of God are set apart from the rest of the people in the world to be God’s treasured possession. I likened this last week to a wealthy man who buys a [...]
